OPUS AT A GLANCE
OPUS IT Services Pte Ltd is a leading IT services and solutions company in Singapore. It was incorporated in Singapore on 23 May 1990, under the name of United Software Systems Pte Ltd as a computer software developer. The company was renamed OPUS IT Services Pte Ltd on 4th July 1997 and re-positioned as an IT outsourcing services provider when IBM Singapore Pte Ltd became a majority shareholder. The other stakeholder was Sunway Technology Sdn Bhd.
On 1st July 2005, OPUS completed a milestone transition from an IBM subsidiary into a private, independent company after IBM and Sunway sold their entire shareholding. The new owner is a group of private investors who have business and interests in property, financial services, systems management and technology
In the past few years, OPUS has grown rapidly and established itself as a reliable and major service partner of IBM Singapore. OPUS tenders for services from IBM Singapore on an “arm’s length” basis with other competing service providers. Its total staff strength grew from 104 in 1997 to the current number of around 400.
Apart from having business locally, OPUS has spread her wings overseas to better support clients who have regional offices or subsidiaries. In January 2020, OPUS has set up our presence in Thailand – OPUS IT Services (Thailand) Co.,Ltd.
OPUS IT Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd was incorporated in January 2020 to replicate OPUS Singapore success in business models beyond Singapore to better support clients who have regional offices or subsidiaries in Thailand. After a few years of operations, OPUS Thailand has grown and progresses with a team of around 50 IT Professionals, providing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services to various multi-national companies.
